Il fait 4\u00b0, mais je n&rsquo;aurai pas froid. Je commence par 200 m\u00e8tre de d\u00e9nivel\u00e9 en 2,6 km, \u00e7a r\u00e9chauffe. Apr\u00e8s c&rsquo;est la descente sur Sedan via La Chapelle et Givonne (trajet inverse de celui de mon arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Bouillon (je savais ce qui m&rsquo;attendait !).<\/p>\n<p>A Sedan, j&rsquo;ai le temps de passer faire un tour au ch\u00e2teau avant d&rsquo;aller prendre un train pour Reims.<\/p>\n<p>A Reims, je suis encore \u00e9tonn\u00e9 par la foule pi\u00e9tonne dans ce centre-ville pi\u00e9tonnier tr\u00e8s \u00e9tendu.<\/p>\n<p>Question am\u00e9nagements cyclables, c&rsquo;est plut\u00f4t bien, voire mieux, mais &#8230; il n&rsquo;y a pas de cycliste, le R\u00e9mois semble pr\u00e9f\u00e9rer la marche \u00e0 pied.<\/p>\n<p>Passage devant la <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Basilique_Saint-Remi_de_Reims\">basilique Saint R\u00e9mi<\/a>, mais je ne prends pas le temps de m&rsquo;arr\u00eater (j&rsquo;ai de la route devant moi). Petit regret ce soir en lisant Wikipedia. C&rsquo;est un lieu charg\u00e9 d&rsquo;histoire.<\/p>\n<p>Mon objectif est d&rsquo;arriver \u00e0 Ch\u00e2lons en Champagne pour aller d\u00e9couvrir des sites de la guerre 14-18 de Fernand.<\/p>\n<p>La carte ci-dessous montre la mont\u00e9e au front du 12 au 22 ao\u00fbt 14, <\/p>\n<p>puis le repli de Botassart \u00e0 Allibaudi\u00e8res, du 24 ao\u00fbt au 5 septembre,<\/p>\n<p>et la remont\u00e9e au front du 6 au 14 septembre.<\/p>\n<p>Du 15 septembre 1914 au 4 octobre 1915, pendant pr\u00e8s de 13 mois, la compagnie 10\/13 va rester dans le m\u00eame secteur (sans \u00eatre relev\u00e9e) et participer aux combats. C\u2019est le d\u00e9but de la guerre des tranch\u00e9es. La 10\/13 interviendra, en particulier, dans le secteur du Bois Sabot.<\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9couverte de ce secteur sera pour demain.<\/p>\n<p>Dans ma route de Reims \u00e0 Ch\u00e2lons, je suis pass\u00e9 non loin de Petites Loges (avant de monter sur la Montagne de Reims) o\u00f9 la compagnie 10\/13 avait bivouaqu\u00e9 du 6 octobre au 26 octobre 1915. Depuis quelques semaines, la compagnie 10\/21 \u00e9tait d\u00e9tach\u00e9e de la 60e division qui s\u2019\u00e9tait install\u00e9 dans le secteur de Villers-Marmery (j&rsquo;y suis pass\u00e9). Le 5 octobre, la compagnie rejoint la division et part s\u2019installer aux Petites Loges. C&rsquo;\u00e9tait toujours une zone de combat.<\/p>\n<p>Je suis \u00e9galement pass\u00e9 \u00e0 Aulnay sur Marne o\u00f9 la compagnie a \u00e9t\u00e9 au repos du 28 septembre au 12 octobre 1917.<\/p>\n<p>Journ\u00e9e froide et grise, le thermom\u00e8tre n&rsquo;a pas d\u00e9pass\u00e9 les 6 degr\u00e9s, mais l&rsquo;\u00e9tape de Reims a \u00e9t\u00e9 facile malgr\u00e9 la mont\u00e9e sur la <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Montagne_de_Reims\">Montagne de Reims<\/a>, je n&rsquo;ai pas mouill\u00e9 le maillot. Rest\u00e9 sec, je n&rsquo;ai pas souffert du froid. Paysages souvent mornes, champ de betteraves arrach\u00e9es ou en cours d&rsquo;arrachage, ou de c\u00e9r\u00e9ales (plantation d&rsquo;hiver) \u00e0 perte de vue.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3357\" Elle contient les reliques de l&rsquo;\u00e9v\u00eaque saint Remi, qui a baptis\u00e9 Clovis, roi des Francs, le jour de No\u00ebl d&rsquo;une ann\u00e9e comprise entre 496 et 506, peut-\u00eatre en 499 de l&rsquo;Incarnation, apr\u00e8s la bataille de Tolbiac. C&rsquo;est un plateau bois\u00e9, situ\u00e9 entre Reims et \u00c9pernay,  \u00e0 une dizaine de kilom\u00e8tres au sud de Reims, et bord\u00e9 au nord, au sud et \u00e0 l&rsquo;est par des coteaux de vignes. Le terme de \u00ab montagne \u00bb se justifie localement par la brutalit\u00e9 du changement d&rsquo;altitude entre la plaine champenoise \u00e0 80 m\u00e8tres d&rsquo;altitude et la cuesta o\u00f9 poussent les vignes produisant le champagne, 200 m\u00e8tres plus haut.<br \/>Le point culminant de la montagne de Reims est le mont Sina\u00ef qui se trouve \u00e0 286 m\u00e8tres d&rsquo;altitude.
