{"id":5075,"date":"2025-05-21T10:32:43","date_gmt":"2025-05-21T08:32:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pierre-le-cycliste.fr\/?p=5075"},"modified":"2025-05-21T10:32:43","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T08:32:43","slug":"le-train-des-mouettes-de-saujon-a-la-tremblade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pierre-le-cycliste.fr\/index.php\/2025\/05\/21\/le-train-des-mouettes-de-saujon-a-la-tremblade\/","title":{"rendered":"Le train des Mouettes de Saujon \u00e0 La Tremblade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vendredi dernier, je vous racontais mon voyage de Rochefort \u00e0 Saintes pour me rendre \u00e0 une rencontre organis\u00e9e par <a href=\"https:\/\/lesamisderailcoop.fr\/\">les Amis de Railcoop<\/a> \u00e0 Saujon, occasion de d\u00e9couvrir le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.traindesmouettes.fr\/\">Train des Mouettes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Le train des Mouettes circule sur une ligne qui appartient au d\u00e9partement de la Charente-Maritime. La ligne a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e par la Compagnie du Chemin de Fer de la Seudre  et inaugur\u00e9e le 24 juin 1876.<\/p>\n<p>A l&rsquo;\u00e9poque, il n\u2019y avait que des chemins de terre, sur lesquels on circulait \u00e0 pied, \u00e0 v\u00e9lo ou \u00e0 cheval, mais au pas (soit 5 Km\/h) ! L\u2019arriv\u00e9e du chemin de fer correspond \u00e0 l\u2019arriv\u00e9e du progr\u00e8s. On pouvait d\u00e9sormais voyager \u00e0 35 Km\/h et transporter des lourdes charges (chaque wagon emporte entre 3 et 10 fois plus qu\u2019un char \u00e0 b\u0153ufs !).<\/p>\n<p>Ce nouveau moyen de transport a permis l\u2019essor \u00e9conomique du territoire en permettant aux hu\u00eetres d\u2019\u00eatre livr\u00e9es plus vite et plus loin ! En permettant de transporter les bois exploit\u00e9s dans la for\u00eat de la Coubre et le sel des marais salants du bassin \u00ab Marennes Ol\u00e9ron \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Sur cette ligne le trafic voyageur sera ferm\u00e9 en 1939, mais le transport des hu\u00eetres sera poursuivi jusqu&rsquo;en 1976.<\/p>\n<p>La ligne a \u00e9t\u00e9 ferm\u00e9e par la SNCF en 1980.<\/p>\n<p>Le train touristique fait son premier voyage en 1984.<\/p>\n<p>Samedi matin, \u00e0 l&rsquo;aube, je pars de Saintes \u00e0 v\u00e9lo pour rejoindre Saujon \u00e0 25 kilom\u00e8tres.<\/p>\n<p>Joli parcours en passant par Pisany.<\/p>\n<p>A Saujon, je retrouve le groupe et nous embarquons dans le train des Mouettes. La ligne fait 21 kimom\u00e8tres et comporte six gares dont quatre desservies, les extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s Saujon et la Tremblade, Mornac sur Seudre et Chaillevette.<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e9part du train \u00e0 9h, le train est tract\u00e9e par une locomotive diesel pour ce premier parcours. Il faut 4 heures pour faire chauffer la locomotive diesel et les b\u00e9n\u00e9voles de l&rsquo;association Trains et Traction n&rsquo;ont pas envie de se lever \u00e0 4h du matin pour pr\u00e9parer la machine.<\/p>\n<p>Nous sommes descendus \u00e0 Chaillevette et un b\u00e9n\u00e9vole de l&rsquo;association nous a fait d\u00e9couvrir l&rsquo;atelier de r\u00e9paration, d&rsquo;entretien et de r\u00e9novation des nombreux mat\u00e9riels roulants (locomotives diesel ou vapeur, voitures et wagons) dont l&rsquo;association dispose, ou que lui confient d&rsquo;autres associations ferroviaires.<\/p>\n<p>Ensuite nous avons rejoint le village de Mornac sur Seudre, \u00e0 pied pour les plus courageux, en mini-bus pour les autres et nous avons d\u00e9jeun\u00e9 dans une auberge sur le port.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s avoir pris le temps de d\u00e9couvrir ce joli village, tr\u00e8s touristique, nous avons repris le train \u00e0 la gare de Mornac pour rejoindre le terminus de la Tremblade. Cette fois-ci, la locomotive est \u00e0 vapeur.<\/p>\n<p>A la Tremblade nous avons assist\u00e9 \u00e0 la manoeuvre de retournement de la locomotive, et apr\u00e8s une balade pour d\u00e9couvrir le chenal qui relie le port de la Tremblade \u00e0 la Seudre, nous avons r\u00e9-embarqu\u00e9 pour Saujon, avec arr\u00eat \u00e0 Chaillevette pour changer de locomotive. La loco vapeur est d\u00e9tach\u00e9e du train avant d&rsquo;\u00eatre nettoy\u00e9 et pr\u00e9par\u00e9e pour son prochain voyage. Elle est remplac\u00e9e par la loco diesel.<\/p>\n<p>Une tr\u00e8s belle journ\u00e9e sous un soleil magnifique !<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5017\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption La Seudre est un fleuve c\u00f4tier de 68 km de long. Ruisseau avant Saujon, il s&rsquo;\u00e9largit peu apr\u00e8s et ses eaux deviennent sal\u00e9es, la mer remontant jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 Saujon \u00e0 mar\u00e9e haute. Dans le marais de la Seudre compos\u00e9s d&rsquo;anciens marais salants, sont install\u00e9es les claires qui permettent l&rsquo;affinage des hu\u00eetres.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_5031\" Faisant partie d\u2019une s\u00e9rie de 4 locomotives identiques, elle porte le N\u00b0 3. La 030 T a roul\u00e9 pendant plus de 60 ans sur le r\u00e9seau de la \u00ab Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des Chemins de fer de St Victor \u00e0 Cours \u00bb. Elle assurait des circulations sur la ligne de 13 km entre St Victor (42) et Cours (69). Le 15 avril 1961 marque l\u2019arr\u00eat de l\u2019exploitation vapeur et le dernier train roulera sur cette ligne le 31 janvier 1969 . \u00c0 la fermeture du r\u00e9seau les machines n\u00b03 et 4 sont rachet\u00e9e par un r\u00e9cup\u00e9rateur amoureux des belles choses, Mr Gouverneyre de Chambost-Alliere. Elles passeront 14 ans chez lui dans un hangar \u00e0 l\u2019abri des intemp\u00e9ries. En 1981 le Chemin de Fer Touristique de la Seudre, qui vient de se cr\u00e9er, cherche une locomotive \u00e0 vapeur pour assurer la traction de ses trains. L\u2019association rach\u00e8te les deux locomotives en 1983. Contrairement aux locomotives diesel, qui d\u00e9marrent comme une voiture, les locomotives \u00e0 vapeur n\u00e9cessitent une longue mise en pression. Il faut que leur \u00e9norme masse chauffe uniform\u00e9ment pour \u00e9viter les dilatations destructrices. Les b\u00e9n\u00e9voles doivent venir 4 heures avant le d\u00e9part pour allumer le feu dans la chaudi\u00e8re et l\u2019alimenter doucement en bois puis en charbon pour faire monter la temp\u00e9rature progressivement. Lorsque la temp\u00e9rature est uniforme et que la pression de vapeur atteint 11 bars, on peut enfin demander de la puissance de traction. C\u2019est pourquoi les locomotives \u00e0 vapeur ne peuvent \u00eatre mises en t\u00eate des trains qu\u2019\u00e0 partir de 11h00 le matin. De m\u00eame, le soir, il faut laisser tomber le feu et les nettoyer avant de pouvoir rentrer chez soi\u2026 Elles sont donc arr\u00eat\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de 17h00.<\/p><\/div>\n<div
